Medical and Healing fund for Sarah Geo Walton

All right fam! Our beloved friend and fellow doula Sarah Geo Walton out in Reno Nevada had a scary seizure yesterday while driving with her son Milo and crossed on-coming traffic before crashing and totaling the car.

Thankfully Milo didn’t have a scratch on him but the experience was awful as her seizure was a long one. It sounds like he was very brave and helpful but we are super heartbroken for him. Thankfully another driver came to her rescue right away and she was whisked off with him in an ambulance.

Sarah is such a creative force of nurturing goodness. Everyone who knows her feels seen and appreciated by her and everyone who has ever danced with her has had the best time of their lives. Chicago is too far away so we can’t pop by with soup and snuggles and bad movies and sleep on her couch and check in on her breathing like she’s the biggest little baby.

She was released from the hospital after they monitored her concussion and gave her a CT scan. She has three broken bones around her eye socket and they also caught a pulmonary node that needs following up on.

This mama looks and feels beat up. She needs to see an ENT to find out if she needs surgery on her face bones, and she needs to see a neurologist so she can learn more about this seizure and find out if there is an underlying disorder that needs treatment.

The hospital sent her home with the instruction to not be alone and this is difficult for single moms. She will not be able to work as much and driving is out of the question for three months or until she’s cleared by a neurologist who she might not be able to see for over six weeks.

Sarah owns/runs doula and family support businesses, Bright Heart Birth Services and Biggest Little Baby- that she needs to keep running but also needs rest and time to heal and receive treatment. We don’t want her to suffer in silence, and it’s not safe for her to be alone right now.

She just sunk almost $2k into this car that was destroyed and I want to help her at least get that back, if not assist her in getting new wheels for when she’s cleared to drive again.

Hospital bills add up, missing hours at work don’t help, and keeping life moving and happy for her little boy would be helped so much with our communal effort.
