As of Sunday October 18, 2020 my dad Tong P Yang passed away as a result of COVID-19 . In his 4 week battle against COVID, my dad showed what true strength is, however the disease was just too much. All his life, my dad has always been a hard worker- always working extra hours just to be able to feed his family, to put a roof over our head, and to put clothes on us. As an immigrant from Laos, my dad embraced the American Dream of creating his own destiny and he did it for his family. Despite having no educational background, my dad took upon every challenge there was and became the hardest worker I have ever known. He never took a day off and he would always try to get extra hours to help our family out. As the only worker in our family, my dad was the main income source and he took it upon himself to do whatever it takes to make sure that his family was okay. My dad never once spoiled himself in any way, he would always wear the same clothes just so that he would be able to pay for his children's clothes and he would eat the same lunch every day, just so he can take his kids out to eat. With his heart of gold, my father put the family's well being before his, even during this pandemic. In his departure, my dad leaves 5 children and a wife- all missing him dearly and loving him. With no source of income, my family is currently struggling to pay for my dad's medical bills and his funeral expenses. With all of our hearts, we ask for any donations of any amount or even just a share of this fundraiser. All the money raised, with go towards my fathers medical bills and the funeral expenses. Our father has always tried his best to give us the world, and all we want is to give him a proper funeral- one deserving of such a great father. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, as any donations or shares means a lot to us and our father.
