Medical and Funeral Costs for Don Alejandro

Hi, this is the Licona family. It breaks our hearts to see the loss of our father. He was only 54 years old. He was a kind, hardworking man who always provided for his family and friends.

Unfortunately, his body was attacked by a vicious bacteria known as "Vibriosis". It was found in oysters that he consumed. Over the course of three days, his body completely deteriorated. The symptoms began with chills and mild leg pain. The swelling of his legs and problems with bowel movements quickly followed. The leg pain got so intense that he needed an ambulance to take him to the hospital. It was there where he spent his final days fighting for his life. His legs turned black from the fluids that were building up rapidly. As a result of the pressure, he underwent an emergency operation.

His liver had been affected by cirrhosis for some time prior to this. As a filter for bacteria, the liver was an important organ. He was placed on life support as his organs couldn't effectively fight it. His condition deteriorated despite the antibiotics. It was found that the bacteria had made its way into his bloodstream. 

Over the course of the final night, his blood pressure continued to drop. Even to the very end, he admirably fought.

It is impossible to forget him as the heart and soul of the family. He showed his love by grilling and hosting gatherings at our house. He loved his garden, specifically his peppers. He loved singing his heart out to loud music. A smile like his lit up the room and touched everyone. Anyone who needed his help could always count on him. We’re thankful for everyone’s support. May he rest in peace.

This money will be used to pay for his medical bills and to arrange for a proper burial for him.
