Please bear with me as I try to explain our intentions as the family is not quite ready to disclose the full details of this tragedy just yet.
On Christmas Day, Misty was a victim of domestic violence and suffered a gun shot wound to the head. By some miracle, she survived, and has a long road of recovery ahead. The bullet completely destroyed her frontal lobe and is still lodged behind her eye. As you can imagine, we nor the doctors can say what her future will look like, we do however know how strong (and stubborn) Misty is and she is not going down without a fight. She proved that the second she "woke up" after the doctors said she wouldn't.
At this time, we are coming to you all, asking that anyone willing and able to help, please do so. Misty currently needs 24/7 hospital care, of course, but she also needs a family member there to monitor her at all times when the doctors and nurses are with other patients. Especially while she is still learning how to control and work her everyday body functions/movements again.

The hospital she is in is two hours away from Coweta County, where most of the family is located, which has already and will continue to cause financial strain on those of us taking off from work and making the drive to be with her along with the already mounting medical bills associated with her care.
Any amount of help is greatly appreciated. If you know Misty, you know she is a strong and beautiful mother, daughter, sister, and friend and does not deserve to be in the condition she is in. However, she does deserve anything and everything our family and all those who know and love her have to offer. She has a long road to recovery but if anyone can make it, we know Misty can.
Any funds received will go directly to the medical expenses and caregivers. As wonderful as the hospital is, their care can only go so far and we need to make sure that Misty is receiving all of the care and monitoring she needs to make a full recovery.
We truly appreciate each and every one of you, along with all of the love and prayers sent our way.
Please at this time, although you may feel called to do so, don’t inundate the family with calls, messages, or questions, as each of us are overwhelmed in this and trying to be sure that Misty gets 100% of our help, love, and energy until she has recovered.
