Help Liam Walton-FES bike funding & medical expenses

Donation protected
Newest update!! June 26th
Liam has had some muscle atrophy starting and the PT and OT sessions have changed from four days a week to one(lack of providers available) even though his Rehab doctor would like him to be doing PT and OT five days a week on the FES bike. When he was able to do four days a week he has vast improvements in movement on his own, less spasms, better internal functions and more! We were able to get an amazing discount on an FES unit but that still leaves us needing to come up with $26,000. With all of the other medical expenses that have popped up during the last two years we definitely need help to make this happen for Liam. This is something he will be able to keep using for years to come. He will need one for the rest of his life to keep his body healthy.
Every penny of the $28,618 that we raised on go fund me when Liam was first hurt went toward the handicap van we use every day to help Liam get to school, doctor and rehab appointments, and to see friends and be a teen. So the total we are trying to get to on go fund me is $55,000 because the first $28,618 already went to the handicapped van back in 2023.

One of the biggest struggles has been not having a way to get Liam to medical appointments or even the emergency room. We need a wheelchair van asap. Please consider a donation of any kind to help with the van or to help with the ongoing personal care for Liam.

On Tuesday, August 8, Liam fell from a neighborhood tree when a branch broke. He was transported via ambulance with no feeling below his neck to CHKD. CHKD was not equipped to handle such a serious spinal injury, so he was transferred to Norfolk Sentera General. A MRI showed damage to his spinal cord from C2-C6. Liam had surgery on Wednesday, August 9 and vertebrates 2-6 were fused with bone removed from 3&4 to help with swelling. Rods and screws were placed in Liam's neck to stabilize his spine. He broke both wrists in the fall and they were able to cast his arms in the operating room once the Neurosurgeon was finished. There will be a lengthy rehabilitation process and he will likely of the not regain use of his body below his neck. Please consider donating to help with the immediate and long-term medical and care expenses of Liam Walton.
