Support for Celeste’s fight against Breast Cancer

My mother is Celeste Howard, she is the daughter of Ken Tatoosh & Lillian Howard from the Mowachaht/Muchalaht of the  Nuu-Chah-Nulth nation.  She is 46 years old and was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in March 2020. 

With the COVID-19 Pandemic, the process for doctor appointments have taken longer as she needs to isolate her self and take a Covid test before each appointment. She’s had 4 so far. 
In April she had her Biopsy two days after her 46th birthday.  In the beginning of July, she had her CT scan for Radiation & met with the BC Cancer Oncologist & Radiationist. She will be starting Radiation July. 16th and will have to go to the hospital  5 days a week for one month to start, possibly leading up 3 in total. After Radiation, she will find out about Chemo.

When my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer she went to Care Point and was referred to a specialist. From there that’s when she was diagnosed but because she doesn’t have a family doctor, she hasn’t been able to apply for medical E.I and each doctor, including the one from Care Point who originally referred her to the specialist, has told her that she needs to have already been seeing that doctor for 6 months. She has always worked in restaurants & did catering but has stopped since being diagnosed.  

Her energy and appetite have been very low & her partner has been taking care of her, as well as my grandmother Lillian.
Since she will be starting Radiation and will be back and forth from the hospital, the last thing I want her & her partner to worry about is more finances.  If you are able to help out in any way, it will be greatly appreciated!
