Not everyone is as fortunate as we are here. In a developed country like Canada, the government instilled rules for self-isolation & physical distancing while providing monetary incentive to those affected, so it is easier for everyone to follow.
In Indonesia, there is still conflicting stories about the pandemic. The number of covid cases in Indonesia may be unclear, but we know for sure that at least 5 well known specialist doctors have died because they are fighting covid-19 and we believe there are many more nurses, doctors and other medical team members who have died as well.
No country is ready when it comes to handling a pandemic. Having a very dense population puts Indonesia in an even more difficult position. Indonesia does not have a well funded public health care system to deal with pandemic. The medical teams keeps running out supplies and rely heavily on crowdfunding and community effort. Topped with global shortage of raw materials for masks, gloves, surgical gowns and other medical supplies, the medical teams are fighting in the front line, with insufficient ammunition.
The medical teams in Indonesia are in dire need for their protective gear, to stay alive and to continuously help people affected by covid-19. They are relying on you, me and other people that can help them.
