Hello my name is Sana Smart, I am starting a go fund me for my little brother Brian who was in a terrible accident on December 10 2022 on his way home from work. He is still in the hospital and will have to be there for a while. The doctors induced a coma for the swelling to go down in his brain and to let his body rest from all the trauma. After performing multiple surgeries sewing his heart back together and working on his left hip, leg, and foot. On December 19 they woke him up.  He wasn’t able to respond to simple commands then but I was told today that he smiled when he heard my 2 children and I sing Happy Birthday to him. He will need extensive therapy to learn to talk and walk again. That is the last thing you want to hear , but I know if he has made it this far, it is possible for him to be restored. today December 26th it is his Birthday he turned 29.  He is 8 years younger than me I remember when my mom had him and I just wanted to take care of him, love him, and protect him as a big sister.  He was my baby! Lol  I will forever feel the need to do that for my siblings whether we’re miles apart or close together. He is a good kid, he works hard, is a great dad to his daughter, and is the light, laughter & love when you’re feeling downand so much more!!! I never thought I’d have to create a go fund me account really this isn’t easy to do . 

 

We are a very small family losing our mom 2 years ago has really put the responsibility on myself to help , love, guide, and protect my brother and sister. He has his dad and our sister there with him. (Indiana) we all were raised in Chicago . ( I’m in California) without much financial support except from us working to make it through ourselves, this is overwhelming and heartbreaking I am unsure of how much everything will cost when he is released from the hospital

and brought to a therapy center or even after he is able to go home. And honestly I’m scared! We appreciate anything that is given even if it just a prayer!! All donations will go to anything he needs while in the hospital ( new clothes comfortable ones he can easily have put on and take off, any and all medications and aftercare he will need. He is currently at Memorial Hospital in South Bend Indiana and needs to go to an Indianapolis hospital where they specialize in Brain trauma . I want to get him the best care possible and I can’t properly do so without being there by his side. Some of the money will go towards helping me purchase a ticket to be by his side and make sure he gets everything he needs. As much as I wish I could do this all on my own I can admit I wont be able to in such a short time, with the help of friends and this go fund me you can make this possible and make a huge difference in our lives.
