Mediastinal germ cell tumor

Hi Everyone, My name is Maria and I am knocking on your hearts for a fundraiser for my husband Joel.

He has been fighting this cancer for almost a year now. He is In and out of the hospital and braving chemo therapy sessions even the strong doses. Treatments only worked to an extent but it did not help kill the cancer, He is currently on relapse.

He had cancer treatments in Iowa, got a second opinion in Indiana and 3rd opinion in Minnesota

His Oncogist now tells him to go to Hospice because they have done everything they can.

But we are not giving up, We are currently in Mexico for an alternative treatment and the costs are building up.

Sadly, we also have troubles financially.

I am trying to be brave in our situation since we have a 3 yr old kid as well and I became the sole breadwinner for our family and our family back home in the Philippines.

We truly appreciate your help and all the proceeds will go to his medical expenses. Godbless us all.

Update: March 5, 2023

It is Joel's 3rd week of treatment here in Tijuana, Mexico

His doctor told me that within this week, Joel will have a ct scan to show how the treatments are going and by that time, he can gave me his decision on what to do next.

We increaseed our goal from the initial $30k to $50k because there is a possibility that his doctor might extend his stay here at their facility. That also translates to further expenses and our resources are already exhausted, and we might not be able to proceed with another 3 weeks stay even if it is necessary.

I am hoping that there are still several people out there who can share their blessings and help us with our struggle. Thank you so much in advance and we might not be able to recompense all of you but may our Lord bless you all according to His riches in heaven in Christ Jesus.

Update: March 27, 2023

We are here back in Iowa, USA because we don't have money to continue his care in Mexico. There is visible improvements to his overall well being when we left their facility. Even the tumor markers AFP went from 2600 to 2300.

But now, 2 weeks after coming home here in Iowa. He has lymphadema in his arms, abdomen and back, had a hard time walking, tightness in his chest and neck, pain in his back, pain in his hips and easily catches his breath.

Within those 2 weeks we went to Holistic routes. He felt a little bit better but since he got lymphadema he will need to stop it at the moment.

Hopefully tomorrow will be good.

Update:

On April 5, 2023

We went to his medical appointment, we found out the a new tumors approx 3 were found on his liver and there is fluid build up on his lungs.

He can still do some radiation but he has to lay on his left side because he cant breath laying flat. He will have his radiation scheduled tomorrow.

On April 6, 2023

Earlier that day, he tried to cough off the phlegm that is bothering his throat but while doing it, he cant breath and I was in Panic but I was still able to call 911 for an ambulance. We went to the neariest hospital to stabilized him and not before long, He will need to ride another ambulance to go to the city hospital for better management in the ICU.
