On April 27,2021 my daddy went to the hospital to have a cardiac cath procedure. They found blockages and transported him to Thomasville, Ga where 4 stents were placed in his heart. Upon waking up, it was evident something was very wrong. Later, CT scans confirmed he had a very large ischemic stroke and an EEG confirmed he is having seizures.
The last few days have been a whirlwind, well really, a nightmare.
He has global aphasia and he has strength, but lacking a good bit of coordination. He will need inpatient rehabilitation.
Within the last 24 hours, he’s become increasingly agitated and is being sedated in efforts to keep him from harming himself and others.
We aren’t really sure what this means moving forward.
There is talk of moving him to another hospital, further from home, so he can receive better neurology care. And then he would be transported for inpatient rehabilitation.
He is going to be unable to work for a while, and Gina West is doing the best she can trying to work remotely whilst also being there for dad.
So many of you have asked how you can help, and aside from prayers for my dad’s healing, we also need prayers for the financial burden that lies ahead.
