• Everything is Politicized - There’s always a right position and a left position in opposition to each other, and usually the truth—or information about the underlying problems that would lead to real solutions—is over there in the corner not being talked about. We want to cover stories from that angle.
• Confrontational instead of Cooperative - Partisan media paints “the other side” as dangerous idiots. It benefits no one to straw man and caricaturize our fellow Americans, that is, except the elites who prefer us to be divided.
• Jumping to Conclusions - The media is riddled with hot takes, speculation, and assumptions. Then they quietly add corrections or publish retractions later. We need news that is more careful and prioritizes getting it right over sensationalism.
• Basically Propaganda - A lot of what’s put out under the guise of “news” is just persuasive content meant to benefit the interests of big corporations. We need news that is funded by everyday people like you and I without big money interfering.

• Slow News - We’re not trying to be the first to publish a story. While we want our articles to be somewhat relevant to current events, we take weeks, sometimes months, and wait until the dust has settled to publish stories.
• Citations - We cite all our sources and honestly think all news companies should do this. Primary sources can be tough to track down, and linking directly to them so that our readers can easily check our work or learn more is so important to us. Our editors always complete a link check to make sure the links say what our authors say they say.
• Peer Review - We use what we call a peer review process (different from academic peer review) where we get feedback on each article’s content from experts and novices from a variety of political and ideological backgrounds. This helps us check for bias and provides a layer of protection to make sure we don't miss things or make obvious mistakes.

Producing content like this takes extra time and energy, so at the moment we publish two to four articles per month. We’re currently working hard to expand our writer base so that we can get more content out to you more regularly! However, we always prioritize quality over deadlines. If we reach the day of publication and new information comes to light, we’ll postpone as long as needed to make sure we get it right.

We promise to never put our content behind paywalls, as our priority is to put out solid content that is accessible for all.
