For any of you who have been lucky enough to meet the Lundborg-Mederos, you know how amazing they are. They are generous and kind humans with big hearts. This is our chance to love and support them.
This past week, Jose and Emma and their two little boys Benicio (2 years old) and Camillo (11 months old) lost their home due to the Walbridge fire. They lived in a cabin built by Emma's Dad on a ranch that has been in the family for 68 years. Their parents also had homes on the property that were also destroyed by the fire. Gratefully, their family is all safe in Healdsburg now—but they lost all of their possessions and homes that have housed many memories, birthdays, and also lost their beautiful gardens that were so dear to them.
The photo below shows what is left of their home and the land where their beloved home used to stand.
Unfortunately, Emma and Jose spent years trying to insure their home but their land was uninsurable due to it being high risk wild land. They had applied with multiple insurance companies and were consistently denied because of the terrain and location. As such, their family will be receiving no financial support from insurance companies to start building their homes and lives again.
Over the last several years, we have witnessed Emma and Jose take on the responsibility of being role models for several kids and youth within their community. Recently, they home-schooled these individuals while both having full time jobs. They have spent so much time, energy, and resources to improve the well-being of their community and this is our turn to lend them a hand.
We're inviting you to help us support them financially through these tough times.
