Med Supplies- Diabetic & Mental Health Patients

Lafia Wellness Initiative (LWI) is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the mission of promoting: preventive health care, health education, healthy lifestyle and support services in our communities here and in West Africa.

This quarter we are seeking your support to purchase supplies for diabetic patients and mental health patients.

Hypertension/Diabetes is a silent killer in a place with very limited resources. While diabetic patients have been our primary focus, a neglected group of people need our support with medications and educating the masses about mental illness. Like most African countries, "In Beninese society, "insanity" is generally considered to be caused by demonic possession or witchcraft rather than an illness. People with mental illness are rejected and mistreated by their families and the general public, and are often forced to resort to violence in order to be accepted and "earn" a living" (www.refworld.org/). With this known fact, LWI will purchase the following supplies to support the diabetic and mentally ill through different organizations in Benin, West Africa such St. Camille and Enabel, to name a few.

Your contributions will go towards:
  • Health Screenings
  • Medical Supplies
  • Blood Pressure Monitors
  • Glucose Monitors
  • Glucometer Strips
  • Diabetic Medication- Insulin, etc
  • Psychotropic Medication

Your donations are 100% tax deductible.

Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to the people we are able to assist.
