Friends of the Orr family are raising funds for Funeral Expenses for the tragic death of Mecca Orr.

Ms. Mecca "BabyGirl" LaVerne Orr, age 48, of Muskegon, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Trinity Health - Mercy Campus in Muskegon, Michigan. Though she left this earth too soon, her laughter, smile, and unforgettable sense of humor will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Mecca was born on June 11, 1977, to Ray Daniel Alexander and Kathy Hardy in Muskegon, Michigan. She attended Muskegon Heights High School and was raised in a close-knit family full of love, tradition, and strong values. Mecca lived her life to the fullest and brought joy anywhere she went. She had a natural gift for connecting with people and never met a stranger.

Mecca loved cooking, listening to music, playing dominoes, and dancing. She enjoyed making people laugh and "talking crazy" in a way only she could-always keeping it real and full of fun. There was nothing she wouldn't try; she believed in living boldly and fearlessly. Even during life's biggest challenges, including her health struggles, Mecca never lost her spirit, strength, or smile.

She loved children and had a special bond with her nieces and nephews, who adored her. She was known to "adopt" children from the community as her own and proudly claimed many as her grandchildren. Her kindness, energy, and larger-than-life personality brightened her family and community, and her spirit will continue to live on through those she touched.

Mecca leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Cory Washington, Troy Marble, Diamond Marble, and Joshua Marble; grandchildren, Amir Turner and Cerenity Washington; one brother, Nathaniel Orr; two sisters, Raenell Orr and Latoria Orr; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Alexander; her maternal and paternal grandparents; her son, Torrey Day Jr.; sister, Yolanda Daniels; niece, Raeniqua Daniels; and granddaughter, Coryionna Washington.

A Public Visitation for Mecca will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 12:00 NOON - 1:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home, 3355 Merriam St., Muskegon Heights, MI 49444.

The Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 PM at Restlawn Cemetery.

Tragically Mecca's mother passed five days later at the same hospital.

If you would like to contribute to Torri Orr (sister and daughter respectively) your donation would be very much appreciated, thank you!
