Mebrat Gabrehiwat Funeral Expense

To our family and friends,

 

It is with heavy hearts we are writing to let our family and friends know about the passing of our beloved mother, sister, and friend Ms. Mebrat Beyene Gabrehiwat. Everyone that knew Mebrat knows that she was a humble, gentle, kind and loving person who dedicated her life to helping her family here and back home. We are greatly devastated by Mebrat’s loss, but we know she is now in a better place.

 

Mebrat was born in Asmara, Eritrea, on April 12th, 1959, to her father, Beyene Gabrehiwat and her mothers, Letekidan Gebramariam and  Abrehet Kidane. Mebrat then moved to Saudi Arabia to pursue a better life and later moved to the United States, where she lived and worked for the remaining years of her life.

 

After battling for a year, Mebrat lost her battle with Kidney cancer on June 15th, 2022. She is survived by her son Selam Berhe with his fiancé Luam Adal, her loved ones Yodit Kashay, Luwam Kidane, Yonatan Habteselasi with his wife Adiam Araya and their family, her sisters Almaz Beyene, Genet Beyene: brothers Fitsum Beyene, Fessahye Beyene,  her late sister Elsa Beyene, late aunt Nigisti Gebremariam  with her family, and Martyred brother Welderufael Beyene. She also had great support from her close friends and family from Asmara, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and those here in the United States.

 

In her honor, we have created this GoFundMe, for anyone who wishes to donate for her funeral service expenses and help send her off the way she deserves. We are very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.
