Sharon Rosio's Medical Fund

My close friend's mother Sharon Rosio has been in the ICU in Burlington VT since New Year's day.  She went to Adirondack Medical Center in Lake Placid on January 1st because she was tired and thought she had a cold and could not sleep.  She was very quickly transferred to Saranac Lake and admitted as she was showing signs of heart failure.  On January 2nd she was transferred to Burlington VT as her conditions were getting worse.  She was immediately put on oxygen upon her arrival to the hospital and they were setting up test and watching her heart closely.  On January 3rd at 2:30 am Becca received a phone call from the hospital stating they almost lost her mother and it took nearly 5 minutes to resuscitate her.  They had to intubate her to give her the oxygen she needed.  She was told to reach her family and have them come to the hospital immediately as they didn't think she would make it through the night.  Thankfully Sharon is a strong woman and proved them wrong.

It took a couple of weeks before Sharon was strong enough to have any of the test they needed to do.  They have since been able to regulate her heart and that does not seem to be a big issue at the moment.  A few weeks ago they had to do a tracheotomy as they could no longer keep her intubated.

Last week they discovered she has developed Myopathy which is a weakening of all the muscles.  She is still on a ventilator and they are unsure how long she will need to remain on that.

Sharon has been in the hospital for 6 weeks which has put a hardship on the family. Her Children James Rosio Jr. And is wife Stella Rosio, Robin Crowningshield and her husband James Crowningshield, Rebecca Lacey, and Sharon's husband James Rosio Sr have incurred many expenses throughout her hospital stay which include travel,  ferry expenses, hotel stays, and meals. The doctors said she has a minimum of about a month longer and that is just a guess as they have no way of knowing.  Her husband (James Rosio) is unable to remain there for long so has to travel back and forth to spend time with his wife.  And it is clear to the family that they will need furthur assistance when she does make it home from either a home health aide or a Nurse.  The doctors are unable to know if she will make a full recovery.

Rebecca has inquired about assistance for her mother when she is able to come home however the waiting list is long and they will have to provide help for their mother at their own expense and would appreciate any help you would be able to give.
