“ …Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” -Deuteronomy 31:6
My name is Shameka Weston, and my life changed dramatically Feb. 26, 2015. The fight for my life began. I was told that I had stage two invasive ductal carcinoma. The first thing that came to mind was who is going to take care of my kids. I’m a single mother of 5, and I already live paycheck to paycheck. What am I suppose to do now. The first thought was “I’m going to die.” Looking into my children eyes, I knew that was not an option. That was the day I can officially say my battle began.
I struggled to work and support my family. The treatments took a toile on my body. I was forced to resign from my job. Instead of living paycheck to paycheck, I’m now unemployed. My parents helped out as much as possible, but it placed a financial strain on them as well. Still I kept holding on, because I know that God will provide a way.
After several good seasons, the rain and storms came rolling in. After a routine PET scan, I was told that the cancer had spread to my lungs. Monday November 16, 2015 the rain came poring from the sky. I went to the emergency room, because I was having headaches. Yet another blow to my battered soul, I was told that the cancer has spread to my brain. I’m a fighter and I refuse to give up regardless of circumstances.

I need help with medical expenses, providing for my children, and most of all prayer.
