Meals and Medical Expenses for Shorten Family

Hello, this fundraiser is being established on behalf of the Shorten Family. As many of you may know, Marquis Shorten was found to have a blood clot in his spine. Marquis began to experience extreme pain in his back when he decided to drive himself to the hospital where his mother, Valerie Shorten, works. During emergency surgery, a vertebra was removed and then replaced. He is slowly acquiring feeling back in his right leg and has gained the complete function of his left leg. We are hopeful and praying for a full and speedy recovery for Marquis to return to track.

Marquis is not allowed visitors due to COVID restrictions, but he would love to receive “get well” cards and balloons! We are also asking for gift cards to Chick-Fil-A or any restaurant to help ensure the family has meals readily available. They are not picky eaters and are open to any support you can offer.
