Meal and Med Bill $$ for Wert’s during Grace’s cancer battle

Andrew and Kathryn Wert were blessed to welcome Grace Ann Wert, born into this world on March 7, 2025, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.

Heartbreakingly, she was born with a rare pediatric cancer. After days of tests, she will unfortunately need to undergo immediate and radical treatment, and faces a long and difficult road towards healing and recovery, requiring her to stay at the UVA children’s PICU.

Her parents are blessed to receive lodging from the Yellow Door Foundation, just off of the hospital campus; so that they may stay by Grace’s side, and have their family, their girls Alice and Adelaide, nearby throughout Grace’s battle.

We know many of their friends and family have been praying hard throughout, and we thank you, and urge you to continue to keep the family in your prayers. The outpouring of support has been a true blessing.

We have also fielded numerous requests, from several groups, about beginning a meal train for the family. Since they will now be staying up in Charlottesville for an undetermined amount of time, a local food train is obviously not possible. Still, the need exists, and we understand the desire to help is very real.

Therefore, we are setting up this GoFundMe as a “virtual meal train”. The family will be in apartment style housing, with a kitchen. Yet there will also be long days at hospital as well.

Our goal is to raise funds to allow for grocery purchases, and provide take out meals for the family during their time there. If you had hoped to provide a meal here, we hope you will consider making a donation to provide it “virtually” via this fund.

Any excess funds will be used towards the vast medical bills Grace’s treatment will accrue.
