Meal Fund for Glenwood Springs Firefighters
Donation protected
Your Glenwood Springs Firefighters are facing the perfect storm of COVID-19 and budget cuts. During this already stressful time firefighters will be losing roughly 10% of their pay due to city budget shortfalls. But they are still on the front line working 48 hour shifts to be there at a moment's notice.
Did you know that while your firefighters are on their 48-hour shifts they purchase their own meals? This could range from $25 to $40 per shift. So while we can not make-up their lost wages we can help them by offsetting their meal costs while they are on-duty.
Our community has a great history of helping those that help us, and this is one of those occasions.
If you are in a position to give during this challenging time and are looking for a way to help those on the front lines, this is an opportunity. These donations will be forwarded to the Glenwood Springs Professional Firefighters in the form of City Market gift cards to assist with on-duty meal purchases for our firefighters.
