Meadhbh's Marathon
Donation protected
On Saturday the 8th of May, I will run a marathon to raise money for Liam's Special Olympics Club, Donabate and Portrane Special Olympics Club and Down Syndrome Dublin.
I signed up for this marathon back in November when I thought I would be travelling to Galway to run it there but Covid had other ideas. Instead I am going to run it virtually and hope that you can donate to these very worthy causes.
Liam joined his Special Olympics Club when it was set up back in 2018 and is entering his first Special Olympics Competition (virtually) in May. All the volunteers in the club put in so much work for Liam and his friends each and every week and we would like to give a little something back to enable them to continue supporting more and more children in the future.
Liam has also received support from Down Syndrome Dublin, especially over the past year with weekly zoom sessions. All of this support is so very welcome at a time when all of Liam's services and supports have been stopped due to the pandemic.
Running this marathon is the biggest and most daunting challenge I have ever set myself. But when I think of all of the challenges Liam faces on a daily basis, challenges that we don't even give a second thought to, this is what will push me on race day.
