HYSTERECTOMY (private healthcare)
Donation protected
Hi my name is Andie (24) and I have been struggling with endometriosis since I was 15. Ten years on, and I only received an official diagnosis this year and had my first laparoscopy in April. NHS care has offered me no further treatment plan accept for more laparoscopies or contraceptives - both of which do not stop my condition from worsening. Hysterectomies are only offered to people who have already had a child or are over 40. This condition has left me mostly bed ridden, barely unable to walk, or work or look after myself independently - all of which have had a detrimental impact on my mental health. A hysterectomy would prevent any more growths spreading across my body, and could allow my body a chance to recover. This surgery would not only prolong my life but it would save it.
