I am sitting here watching my son-in-law sleep in my recliner. Normally, he is very active, talkative, and a very outgoing person, but liver disease is taking its toll on him. He was a police officer with the Chattanooga Police Department for 27 years and has helped many people over the years. He has helped me for years and it's now my time to help him and my daughter, Amy,  who is also having health issues. Amy was also a Chattanooga Police officer for 13 years and has helped many people.
Steve was recently diagnosed with liver disease and in 3 weeks lost 55 pounds and has been hospitalized twice. He will be placed on the liver transplant list in May. Steve had to give up a part time job due to his illness and was told by his doctors to file for disability. Steve's medical bills are already high and will continue to get higher. 
Amy is also unable to work due to her health problems. She is seeing doctors at Vanderbilt and they are trying to find out what is wrong with her.
