HELLO! My name is Aleena, I am currently a junior in high school on Long Island, NY. I am currently enrolled in a 3-year research program that offers a total of 12 college credits on completion! (which is AMAZING for incoming college freshman). Since starting the program, I knew I wanted to do a project that related with passion that I plan on pursuing in the future: medicine, human body, and public health. Although, I knew this route would be a challenging, I was determined to make the project work! Along with my mentor, we concluded that the best plan of action was for me to travel up to Albany for 2 weeks to get direct in-lab experience that other local labs would NOT offer due to COVID restrictions. This oppurtunity is once-in-a-lifetime for a high school student and would be an extreme high point on college aplications, resumes, and future endeavors. I am staying for 2 weeks and cost of travel and accomadations, including transportation, hotel, food, etc is NOT covered by any insitution or administration.
