ME TOO DJS: Listen, Support, Act

Metoodjs was created by a collective of professionals who have worked within the music industry for more than a decade.

The group is composed overwhelmingly of women (around 97%), all of whom have held different roles across the electronic music scene, from
artists and DJs to industry professionals working behind the scenes.
Through years of experience within this environment, we became closely connected to the ecosystem of the scene and increasingly aware of the structural issues affecting the safety and well-being of people within it.
Alongside our professional work, many of us have spent years informally supporting victims on a personal level, listening, advising, connecting them with trusted professionals, and helping them navigate difficult situations.
Over time, it became clear that these efforts needed to be brought together into a structured and sustainable initiative.

Today, the association also includes professionals such as a lawyer and a psychologist who collaborate directly within the group.
Together, we rely on a network of legal experts, therapists, journalists, and trusted industry contacts to help guide victims toward the support they may need, whether that is legal advice, psychological care, or safe channels to speak out if they choose to do so.

By creating this association, we aim to unite our experience, our professional networks, and our shared commitment to improving safety and support within the music community.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED SO FAR

In recent weeks, new allegations shared publicly online have created renewed momentum, encouraging more victims to come forward and speak.
This has highlighted the urgent need for resources to provide immediate support, legal guidance, psychological care, and safe access to trusted professionals, for those who need it.

Since the beginning of this initiative, nearly 300 testimonies have been received from individuals who chose to share their experiences with us.
Over time, we have worked to listen to these testimonies, document them, and help direct victims toward appropriate forms of support.
Several cases have already been referred to legal professionals, and some victims are currently in contact with lawyers to explore possible legal actions.
In parallel, a number of investigative journalists have begun working on certain cases, helping to ensure that these situations can be examined
carefully and responsibly where appropriate.
Beyond legal pathways, many victims have also been connected with therapists through our network, allowing them to access support that can often be difficult to find alone.
In recent months, new allegations shared publicly online have created renewed momentum, encouraging more victims to come forward and speak.
This moment reinforced our conviction that a more structured and sustainable organization was needed.

FUNDRAISER PURPOSE

Many victims within the music community want to pursue legal action, but often cannot do so due to financial barriers.
In some cases, the individuals responsible hold positions of influence, while victims struggle to access legal support.
At the same time, many survivors are still experiencing trauma and distress, and professional psychological support is often too expensive.
This fundraiser aims to provide urgent resources to help victims access legal advice and therapy, while also ensuring that the association can
continue to operate effectively and respond to these urgent needs.

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED

A majority of the funds will go directly to supporting victims who are truly in need.

1.Legal support:
Our network of trusted lawyers, who are trained and experienced in cases involving abuse and harassment in the music industry, will provide
guidance and representation.
The funds will allow us to cover legal fees directly for cases that are formally opened and meet criteria for urgent support.
We are continuously expanding this network to ensure victims have access to qualified and sensitive legal assistance.

2.Therapeutic support:
Many victims require ongoing psychological care.
Funds will allow us to cover therapy sessions with psychologists who are knowledgeable about trauma related to these specific situations.
All spending will be recorded in our annual accounts, anchored in our bookkeeping and treasury.
While we will never disclose individual identities, we will provide annual summaries showing:
- The number of legal cases supported
- The number of therapy sessions funded
- The total amount spent on victim support
This ensures accountability and allows for auditing if necessary.

The remaining funds will be used to maintain and strengthen the association’s capacity to act efficiently and respond to urgent needs.

1. Legal support:
Part of the remaining funds will be used to cover legal fees and related expenses when the association faces defamation claims or other legal challenges. This support is essential to protect our work, respond appropriately to legal threats, and ensure the continuity of our actions.

2.Tools and infrastructure:
This includes cloud storage, secure data management, case management tools, and other resources that allow us to protect sensitive information
and operate effectively.

3. Special projects and urgent missions:
Occasionally, urgent situations may require additional resources, for example:

-organizing workshops or training for survivors or industry stakeholders
-providing safe spaces or online platforms for victims to report experiences
-creating educational materials or safety protocols for the music community
-covering temporary paid support from team members when urgent cases or critical missions demand immediate coordination and action

By allocating funds in this way, we ensure that both immediate victim support and the long-term sustainability of the association are covered.
Every contribution directly strengthens our ability to act quickly, responsibly, and effectively.
