This isn’t easy for me to write—asking for help has never come naturally. But I’m learning that asking isn’t a weakness—it’s an invitation to be part of something meaningful. And what I’m building is exactly that: meaningful, deeply needed, and long overdue.

Four years ago, our family of six relocated to the UK in search of a better environment for our blended Canadian/American household. We dreamed of raising our kids in a more inclusive place, and working within a healthcare system built on the promise of universal access. That vision, in many ways, has come true—and it’s also revealed the limits of the current system, especially when it comes to women’s healthcare.

As a nurse with a passion for women’s health—pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, gynecological care—I’ve seen firsthand how many fall through the cracks. The system is overstretched. Time is short. Support is minimal. But my calling has always been clear: women deserve more. More time. More listening. More continuity. More care.

That’s why I’m stepping into something bold and long-dreamed-of: launching my own independent women’s care practice. A space that offers holistic, relationship-based support where women feel seen, heard, and honored at every stage of their health journey.

This practice will be built on values I hold close—trust, community, empowerment, and whole-person care. And I’ve found the perfect partner to help me bring it to life: a company that provides the infrastructure I need—secure records, online integration, and more—so I can focus on doing the work I love.

To fully launch this practice, I need to raise between £9,000 and £17,000. The lower end will get me started with core services; the higher goal will allow me to launch the full vision from day one.
