Help Me see the world before I go completely blind!

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,

I am reaching out to share a deeply personal journey with you and to ask for your support in fulfilling a dream that has been in my heart for as long as I can remember.

In 2017, I began noticing strange, squiggly lines in my vision while I was working out. At first, it was a curious sight, but soon I realized it wasn’t something that would go away. After visiting the emergency room and seeing an eye doctor, I was diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy, a complication of type 1 diabetes, which I’ve had since I was 13. My eyes were hemorrhaging, and without immediate treatment, I was at risk of going blind very quickly.

The treatment has been intense and painful. I’ve endured injections and laser surgeries twice a week, which were both physically and emotionally exhausting. The blood in my eyes would sometimes create a fog-like effect, as if I was looking through a lava lamp, clouding my vision and leaving me completely sightless for weeks at a time. Unfortunately, I lost the vision in my right eye, and living with no depth perception has been an incredibly traumatic experience. Simple tasks like walking upstairs, or avoiding obstacles, have become daily challenges.

Today, I still get injections every month in my left eye, and while I am trying to hold on to what vision I have left, the doctors say the disease is unpredictable. I know that my time is running out, and it’s only a matter of time before I lose all my sight.

For years, I have dreamed of traveling the world, experiencing the beauty of Europe, Asia, and especially Australia. These places have always been on my bucket list, and I want to experience them while I still can, before it’s too late.

That’s where I’m asking for your help. I’m reaching out to friends, family, and kind souls to help me raise the funds to travel and see the world before I go completely blind. These funds will go toward travel expenses, accommodations, and the ability to see parts of the world that I may never get to see if I don’t act soon.
