He survived a civil war, lost the love of his life and beat cancer, only for his kidneys to fail him. No, this is not the plot of a Lifetime original movie, but the real-life story of my dad, John Cole Sr. My father is currently battling stage 4 kidney failure. Anyone who has been through what he has been through would have every right to throw in the towel, but my dad has soldiered on and is fighting daily for his life! He has taken on a healthy diet, attends the gym regularly, and never misses a doctor's appointment. In addition to the lifestyle change, he also has to have dialysis done three times a week which he does without any complaints. My father is my hero, and he doesn't want to burden anyone by asking for financial support, which is why I am creating this to ask for help to save my dad. He is on the transplant list, and we finally have found a donor! In order to have the surgery, we have to put up about 20 percent of the cost, which comes out to about 22K. My family would appreciate any amount given, and if you can’t give monetarily, sharing the link and his story will also mean a lot, along with any prayers you want to send our way! I lost my mother to cancer when I was 3, and I'd like not to lose my dad this young too. I love him a lot and want to keep him around as long as possible.
