Help Me Run (Stumble) for Angela Clarke & Ovarian Cancer!
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
Each year in Australia around 1,815 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. In most cases the cancer will be diagnosed at an advanced stage, where it is very difficult to treat.
So with that in mind I’m here to tell you about my bestie, Georgia’s mum, Angela Clarke - an absolute force of nature who’s been bravely battling ovarian cancer for the past 8 years. Angela is one of the most inspiring, passionate, and resilient people I know. Despite everything she’s endured, she’s remained fiercely committed to raising awareness for ovarian cancer… (ladies, I’m looking at you!)
Sadly, Angela’s body is struggling, but her spirit is as strong as ever and if Angela could move her body, you’d better believe she would be doing everything she could to make a difference. So, in her honor, I’m dedicating the next 12 months to raising money and awareness for ovarian cancer in the most ambitious way I know how, by running.
Now, let me be clear… I’m not a runner. I get puffed walking up the stairs, and I haven’t run anywhere since high school. But for Angela? For her cause? I’m trading my Netflix marathons for the real deal.
Over the next year, and starting in February for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, I’ll be running 10 races of 10km, culminating in a half marathon in July and a full marathon in December (yes, I’m as terrified as I sound) and I’m inviting you to join me - not just by donating, but by getting your bodies moving too! Whether you run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, your support will mean the world.
1. February 8th: Flying Brick Bellarine Sunset 10.5km
2. March 23rd: Edithvale Fire Brigade All Fired Up 10km
3. April 13th: South East Running Festival 10km
4. May 4th: Mornington Running Festival 10km
5. June 8th: Sri Chinmoy Albert Park 10km
6. July 13th: Run Melbourne half marathon
7. August 3rd: Werribee Mansion 11km
8. September 14th: Conor’s Run 9.6km
9. October 12th: Nike Melbourne 10km
10. November 23rd: Run for the Young marathon
All funds raised will be donated to Ovarian Cancer Australia in Angela’s name, to help further research, awareness, and support for women facing this disease.
Please donate however you can, whether it’s the cost of a coffee, a dinner out, or just whatever you can spare. Every dollar makes a difference, and so does every step we take together.
Let’s honor Angela, raise awareness, and make sure no woman has to face ovarian cancer alone.
Thank you for your support, and if you see me huffing and puffing on the Yarra Boulevard, in the gym or on the racecourse, just remember: it’s all for Angela!
Let’s do this.
With gratitude (and slightly wobbly knees),
