Hi! My name is Pragya. I am an Indian Australian residing in Perth, WA. Last year, while I was travelling from Singapore to Perth, I bought a $5 slice of pork jerky to eat. I ate some and put the rest in my bag. I mostly forgot about it after that (I have ADHD)

When I reached Perth, I was 'randomly' selected for a bag check. The person discovered the pork jerky and accused me of lying on the incoming passenger card, as I had not declared that I had the pork jerky. I apologised and tried to explain that I made a mistake. They continued to make racist comments and refused to believe my reasoning.

I was consequently given an infringement notice of $4000.

Since then, due to other reasons, I had to take a break from work, which has left me in a financial crunch.

I have already received two extensions, and they have refused to extend it any further and have rejected my request for a payment plan.

The fine is due end of November. Any help would be appreciated.
