Hi everyone,
This is one of the most humbling things we’ve ever had to do. Hitting “publish” on this feels like swallowing our pride whole. We’ve gone back and forth, wondering if we should even ask for help at all. The truth is, we’re embarrassed. We’re scared. And we’re exhausted from trying to hold everything together on our own. But our love for our family—and our need to keep our home stable—has pushed us to set aside that embarrassment and reach out.
My husband is an incredibly hardworking tattoo artist, someone who pours his heart and soul into every piece he creates. His job is our family’s main source of income right now with me being in school. But winter is always slow for his industry, and this year has been especially crushing. Clients have been canceling appointments, pushing sessions out, or simply not scheduling at all. He’s been managing maybe two appointments a week—nowhere near enough to cover the bills that keep coming no matter how hard we try to stay ahead. Watching him work so hard and still fall short has been heartbreaking for both of us.
Meanwhile, I’m attending school full-time to become a nurse—a dream that means everything to me and something that will eventually bring stability and a brighter future for our family. But right now, the demands of school limit how many hours I can work. I had to step down to PRN at work and I’m working maybe 10 hrs a week if I’m lucky. I’m doing my best to juggle classes, studying, parenting, and supporting my husband emotionally and mentally, all while trying to make every dollar stretch further than it possibly can. We’ve cut back, sacrificed, and rearranged everything we can, but it still isn’t enough.
Why We’re Asking for Help:
We’re asking for help to cover our essential bills through this winter season—rent, utilities, groceries, gas—just enough to keep our home stable while we get through the slowest months of the year. The stress of watching our income drop while our responsibilities stay the same has become overwhelming. We’re fighting for our stability, for our peace, for our future—but right now, we need help to get through this moment.
Admitting this is humiliating. We’ve always been the ones to figure it out ourselves, to carry the weight quietly, to avoid burdening anyone. But right now, we’re stretched thin emotionally, financially, and mentally. We can’t keep going without support.
What Your Support Will Do:
Your help—whether through donations or simply sharing this—would mean:
• A safe and stable home during a winter season that is financially devastating
• Relief from the anxiety that keeps us awake at night, wondering what bill we’ll have to put off next
• The ability for my husband to continue pursuing his art without losing hope
• The chance for me to stay fully focused on my nursing program, which will eventually change everything for our family
• A bit of peace and hope during a season that has felt overwhelmingly heavy
We aren’t asking for anything extra—just enough to keep our family grounded and moving forward. We believe this hard season is temporary, and we are fighting every day to build something better. Your support helps us hold on until the light returns.
Thank you for reading, for caring, for sharing, and for helping in any way you can. Your kindness means more to us than we can ever express.
With all our gratitude,
Our Family
