Help me finance my studies in Switzerland

Hi, my name is Yesha, and I’m fundraising to finish my law degree and complete my final year at the University of Zurich.

I’m a transgender immigrant woman who came to Belgium to rebuild my life with dignity, hope, and purpose. I learned Dutch, earned my bachelor’s degree in law with distinction, and was honored with a civic award from the Faculty of Law at UHasselt. I'm now about to begin the final phase of a Double Degree Master of Laws between KU Leuven and the University of Zurich which is a dream I’ve worked tirelessly to achieve.

But just as I was preparing to start the final year in Zurich, my only source of financial support - a personal agreement with my ex-partner - was significantly changed. We just got divorced. His monthly contribution, which I need to eventually pay back, was my only income. Without it, and without family to fall back on, I now face the heartbreaking possibility of having to give up everything I’ve worked for.

Living and studying in Zurich comes with significant expenses: housing, health insurance, public transport, and basic living costs. I’m doing everything I can to apply for scholarships, work opportunities, and university support, but it may not be enough or come right on time. Every bit of help brings me closer to completing my studies and building the future I’ve fought so hard for.

I don’t take asking for help lightly. But I believe in the value of what I’ve started, and in the future I’m building, not just for myself, but as a voice for others like me in law and society.
