Hi, My name is Mona. I am an undergraduate living on financial aid at Stanford. I am also a refugee and used to work a minimum wage job before coming to Stanford.

Last summer, I worked three internships on topics I was passionate about for small stipends. I ended up owing around $10000 in taxes as a result of this money adding up to my financial aid package. I currently don't have this amount of money, and the stipends were spent on food, rent and other necessities.

I have an interview on September 6th 2022 to become a US citizen, and I need to have paid my taxes for all years before that date.

It means the world to me to become a citizen after 6 years of being stateless. This means I can finally visit my family somewhere after all these years and go to conferences where my work is published. Please consider donating if you can.
