Help me attend the ESM summer conducting program

My name is Israel Ortiz. I am a Junior at Wilbur Cross High School, and I am also enrolled in the Educational Center for the Arts (ECA) program through a partnership with New Haven Public Schools. I am asking for your support in helping me attend the Eastman Summer Classical Studies program.

For seven years, I have developed my passion for playing the trombone and have since added bass and tuba to my skill set. My ultimate aspiration is to become an orchestra conductor and music teacher while continuing my studies as a trombonist.

The Eastman School of Music is one of the most prestigious conservatories in the United States and the world. I consider myself exceptionally fortunate to have been among the four student conductors selected to participate in the Eastman Summer Classical Studies program. Acceptance is incredibly selective, and I was offered one of the few coveted spots.

This opportunity is of great significance to me, as it offers the chance to expand my musical knowledge and enrich my understanding. By participating in this community of learners, I hope to study alongside a diverse group of individuals with different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. Music serves as a universal language that unites us all!

While this program will be a phenomenal opportunity for my development as a musician and conductor, it is prohibitively expensive. I extend my sincerest gratitude to those who have generously donated to support my musical endeavors. I deeply appreciate your generosity and willingness to invest in my future.
