I’m Paul, a middle aged busy dad of three and husband who decided after another excessive Christmas to get fit and healthier. Through a lot of hard work I’ve had some success. One of the targets I set myself was to get fit enough to run the Half Marathon in October…. So here we are!

My motivation to run this is fuelled by an opportunity to support and raise awareness of dementia and its bruital effect it has on families and friends of those affected. This falls close to home and having seen grandparents suffer when I was younger I now witness my father in law, Alun, and his daily struggle with an advanced condition.

This affects us all and is heart-breaking to see. So I’m going to do this run for Alun.

He is 74 and still managing to get by, mostly. (The picture of him and my children before his sudden deterioration a few years later).

All monies raised will go straight to the Alzheimer's Society and every penny, however much you can spare, will provide extra motivation to me.
