What is "Sunshine"?

“Sunshine” is a documentary series about the sun and its effects on the human experience. The project will look into the beauty of the sun and how it impacts us in our day-to-day life. It will embody a mix of concepts, science, experiences, abstract art, and interviews.

Our Story

The entire “Sunshine” crew is thankful that you're checking out our fundraising page. This project is a senior thesis for students from CSUN’s CTVA 441 documentary course. The students are collaborating together to create a piece that incorporates all they have learned throughout their courses at CSUN as well as what they’ve learned on their own through trial and error.

Fundraising Goals

The purpose of this fundraiser is to film the pilot episode of the “Sunshine” series titled “Skin.” The episode will revolve around the sun's beauty and its effect on the human skin. Our director, Emma Kupershmidt, created and developed the concept and the whole crew is extremely excited to film this project. We expect to begin production in mid October through early November. Our goal is to raise approximately $5,000 with the help of donations. We are very grateful for any donation that comes our way and would like to explain what these donations will be used for:

-Camera Equipment Rentals

-Sound Composing and Post-sound mix

-Art Department: wardrobe and hair/makeup

-Post Production: Hard drives, color grading/correction, transcoding, foley artist, etc.

-Locations: Permits, insurance, transportation, liaison fee, etc.

-Catering and Craft Services: Meals, snacks, drinks, etc.

-COVID-19 Safety: PPE for crew and cast, sanitizing/disinfecting equipment, masks, face shields, COVID-19 testing, Covid Compliance Officer, etc.
