Cathy Javier opened Seasons in 1985. Having met Buddy Helm in 1987, their combined interests and talents created a most unusual gift store-arts and artifacts from local and global artists/artisans.
Buddy Helm’s history as a drummer includes touring with Tim Buckley, playing with Bo Diddley, Frank Zappa, Chuck Berry, the Allman Bros and more recent engagements with Kanye West and Sting. Currently engaged as a drum therapist at local rehab houses, Buddy holds private one-on-one sessions at Seasons.
Since 1987, Cathy and Buddy have hosted “Drum Workshops” at Seasons. Recognizing a growing need for a “safe” space these workshops have evolved to “Healing Meditation Drumming”
We are raising money to support space renovation and inventory enrichment; allowing for larger groups to attend workshops.
The Santa Monica community has embraced this small business for a generation; from baby stroller, to college, to careers, to having children of their own.
Without these needed funds Seasons “the drum store” will come to a heartbreaking close.
