How can a 31 year old mother of three beautiful children have Stage 4 Colon Cancer? Colon Cancer… This is supposed to be a cancer that affects older people. Right? No, that’s not the case anymore. The rate of Colon Cancer in people under the age of 40 has been increasing at an alarming rate. March is Colon Cancer Awareness month. We are asking that everyone help spread awareness. Let me tell you about our Angel.

Angel Rae Collins McDonough is 31 years old. She was diagnosed on February 28, 2023, with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Angel is truly a Rae of sunshine. If you know her or even have just briefly met her, you immediately feel uplifted by her infectious smile, laughter, and lively nature. From the time she was little, Angel would always say, “I just want to be a mom”. Today, Angel has a 5 year old daughter, a 3 year old son, and a 6 month old baby boy. Her husband Mark is a loving husband and father who works hard to provide for his family. Both Angel and Mark are Jupiter/Tequesta locals and Native Floridians. Angel is a graduate of Jupiter High School, class of 2011, and of Indian River State College with a degree in dental medicine. The McDonough family is strong in their faith, which will bring them comfort and peace during these very difficult times. We are asking that anyone who feels compelled and is able to make a donation to financially assist this young couple with all the added medical bills and expenses that come with this kind of diagnosis. Any prayers and positive thoughts along with spreading awareness is what we are all asking for more than anything.
