Help me lay my friend to rest
Donation protected
In 2009, while in 29 Palms CA, I met a great kid with a big heart who I would then become best friends with. Prather and I spent 9 months as bunk mates at Comm school in the Marine Corps. While in 29 Palms we would watch survivor man and then go on adventures in Joshua Tree National Park, play video games, and spend every single day together.
When it came time to go to our duty stations, we would spend 3 days straight traveling across country from CA to Camp Lejune NC. There we spent hours at the nearby beach with a group of friends, Prather would run around chasing sharks. We kept in touch over the years and could talk like no time had passed since we last saw each other.
Unfortunately, Matt passed away unexpectedly last week. I am trying to travel across country next week to help lay him to rest. Funds are tight with two kids and only one income while my wife is back in school. Any assistance to help with travel costs would be greatly appreciated.
Donations will be used to travel from CT to KS, purchase a hotel room, transportation, and food. If any excess funds are raised I will help other friends of his with travel expenses or pass them on to his family.
Thank you.
