All proceeds from this memorial fund will be turned into a college savings account for Mariah's daughter, Olivia. Mariah's favorite years were in college, it is her family's intention to help create that same opportunity for her daughter.
On Sunday, April 5, 2020, Mariah Dawn Baker passed away at the age of 29. She was born on March 27, 1991 in Pocatello, ID to Casey and Cindy (Schmidt) Baker.
In life, Mariah’s biggest passion was the people around her. She lived for her daughter, her family, her friends. Every moment of the day her thoughts were of her beloved daughter, Olivia Rose Marlene Reid. Olivia was her heart and soul.
In the summer we could find Mariah on hiking trails or on the back of a Harley Davidson, her crimson hair trailing in the wind. She loved music festivals and concerts, where she danced like nobody was watching. In the winter she would go skiing or settle indoors for board games with family. She insisted on getting everyone addicted to her new favorite shows.
Some of her most cherished memories were of her years in college at Idaho State University, while earning her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration Management. She joined Greek Life and touched countless lives in her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta. She championed philanthropy and community service and served as Greek Council President.
With Mariah around, there was never a dull moment. Her passion for life was contagious, and it burned like a wildfire. She had a compassionate heart and went out of her way to help those in need. Known for her quick wit and infectious laugh, she was as quirky as they got. She battled a terrible addiction to alcohol and eventually succumbed to it.
Mariah is preceded in death by her father, Casey. She is survived by her mother, Cindy, her brother, Martin, and her daughter, Olivia. She is mourned by her family and countless friends.
Due to the circumstances of the Covid-19 crisis, her family opted to postpone her services until a suitable celebration of life can be held. Our intention is to honor her properly as soon as we are able in Pocatello, ID.
Thank you for your support during this time of loss and isolation.
