In September of 2011 after enduring a month of excruciating stomach pain and being misdiagnosed several times, our mother, Vikki Marcell was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer (after losing her husband to cancer one year prior).
She went through extensive surgery and many rounds of chemotherapy. Just as she began to bounce back from that ordeal, our mother had to undergo several different surgery’s including hernia repair, partial thyroid removal, a hysterectomy, carpel tunnel surgery on both hands and she was recently diagnosed with Lupus and Raynaud’s Disease.
After being in remission for 4 years, we found out just weeks ago that the cancer is back but this time it was detected in the lymph nodes around her abdominal region. Once again, she has to undergo surgery and 6 rounds of chemotherapy. My siblings and I are going to support our mothers healing process. One of her desires after chemo is to travel to Mexico to attend the Gerson Therapy Treatment Center. The center will help her detox from the horrific poisons of chemotherapy and teach her how to eat to live so that the cancer doesn't come back.
Our mother will be unable to work but my siblings and I will support her expenses such as household utilities, medical and Mexico. However, we will still need much financial support.
