In Memory of Ken Fox - St Michaels Hospice - Harrogate
My dad, Ken, was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in August last year. It was a rough time for the family as he was not fit enough for chemo. He did okay in the beginning, but trying to get the meds to a level where he was not in any pain was key, but he was always in pain and it was hard to watch him get worse. He was my mum's main carer, he tried to do everything himself, but eventually he turned to me for help and together we managed to make his life a little less worry some.
He was admitted to Harrogate District Hospital on the 1st May with an unknown infection which was later diagnosed as a chest infection, and his pain was getting worse. He was transferred to St Michaels Hospice on the 9th May 2025 and they managed to relieve some of the pain he was in and he was able to get outside in the sunshine. My sister made it from South Africa on the Sunday before his rapid decline, I think he was waiting for her. He passed away peacefully on the 15th May 2025, he would have been 82 on the 20th.
St Michael's Hospice were incredible, patient and caring. I know you don't know me, or my dad but if you could spare a pound or two to support their incredible service, it would be appreciated
Thank you
