Handy Man had a freak accident roping wednesday night. Leaving the head box while team roping he caught his tail on a bolt, breaking his spine, breaking his tail off, spinal cord, nerves, bone and all. The pain caused him to colic and is hospitalized. The Vet is hopeful for Handy Man, but he is in alot of pain and is having it managed by San Luis Rey Equine Hospital, in Bonsall, Ca. Handy Man should recover as long as his nerves allow him to regain use of his hind end, & bodily function. We love this horse dearly and will do whatever we can to keep him alive and well.
