A Beautiful Soul Was Called Home

On March 28, 2018 a beautiful soul was called home. Like many deaths it was unexpected.

My daughter Jailyn (Jai) D’Avian Hicks, was a bright, articulate young person. She had such a huge smile and an even bigger heart. If you ever received one of her hugs you knew it was genuine and filled with affection.

Like many teenagers she was being bullied and depressed. She was hurting so much that she wanted the pain to stop and she felt the only way she could stop the pain was to end her life.

The cat videos that made you smile

Doesn’t have the same affect, it’s been that way for awhile

But yet you still smile fakely

And go home secretly crying out “save me”

The truth is you’re tired,

The truth is I’m tired



Jailyn Hicks daughter, sister, friend. She was loved and adored by many. She just didn’t know how much.
