Scottys got a new ride!

Dateline April 14, Whitestown IN.   Today I watched my friend Scott drive away ( might I add with a big 'ol grin)   a slightly used Subaru Outback, the car he really had his sights on and a hard model to find "used" in the mountain state.
Since the campaign was activated, I've been shopping around the greater Indianapolis area and located several prospects and test drove a few.( I have to say I am now a fan of Subaru. )
I finally ran across a 2014 with plenty of factory warranty left and the color and accessories that Scott wanted and needed in a vehicle.
With a combination of so many gracious donations,  an income tax refund and liquidation of Scott's other assetets , he had a handsome down payment and now a modest car -payment that's comfortable for him to begging rebuilding his credit file.
What I am most happy about is that finally something big went in scottys favor.  He was due......
But most of all, To God be the glory, for ever and ever, Amen.
May the peace of the Lord  be with all who have given, lifted up in prayer and will continue to support this man of God and his family, especially Corbin, as they face so many unseen struggles yet to be endured..........
And I  know they will.

The hardest part about leaving my home in West Virginia was leaving behind my oldest and dearest freind, Scott Salyers.  We grew up together in the corn fields, creeks and hills of Wayne County. We went to each others churches, ate at our respective family's tables, hunted, fished, fought, wrecked our 4-wheelers, got drunk and never wanted for anything .  We lived the American Dream that our families' provided us.....We learned to become men.

My only regret in beginning a new chapter in my life is that I can't be there for him now.

Without going into too much detail, Scott's marraige to the mother of his three children is now officially over.  She rarley visits them and the kids are probably better off for it.

Last year Corbin, the  4-year old platinum-blond twin to Ashton, started falling down.... more than a clumsy kid should.  After spinal taps, MRI's and a brain bioptsy that could have left him autistic, the doctors found leisions on the left lobe of his brain.  So far the steriod regement that he's been on has helped him but now the doctors at Columbus Children's Hospital want to begin chemo treatments to hopefully resolve this issue permanently.  Thank God there is insurance in place to absorb much of those expenses but what Scotty needs most is a good vehicle to drive the three hours from Huntington WVa to Columbus OH.

He's been driving his dad's old pick-up back and forth to work after his '99 Blazer finally gave up the ghost and of course, the ex got the only 'good vehicle' they had to "visit and transport their children".  But she never shows up.

Scott has endured more hardship than any man should, and I've had words with God about his situation..... and God's response.....shut up Kenney Ray and help your friend buy a car to take Corbin to his treatments.

I'm putting up $2000.00 to begin this fund.  Larry McCoy Auto Sales of Ceredo WV has pledged to do "whatever it takes" to get Scotty in reliable vehicle.  The  plant manager and employees of the "Mothball Plant" have pledged money and their time to cover Scotty's shifts.  Please give what you can as soon as you can.  The trips to and from Columbus will begin soon.
