UPDATE: We are blown away by the amount of love, support and generosity we have received from friends, family and loved ones. We are so fortunate to have such an amazing community around us, helping us through this difficult time. This is going to be such an amazing help for the long road we have ahead of us. I would like to start this off by giving a special thank you to those who have privately donated to the McNulty family. They are extremely grateful and cannot thank you enough for your support during this difficult time.

As some of you may know, my grandsons were born on July 13th at only 29 weeks gestation. Over the last month they have been in the NICU at McMaster Children’s hospital, and the family has been staying at Ronald McDonald House to be close to the boys.

During his first week of life Ashton was diagnosed with Necrotizing Entrocolitis and required two bowel resections to get rid of the infection, now had an ostomy and is being treated for short gut syndrome. While he is out of the woods, he has a long road ahead of him.

The doctors recently had a meeting this week with Tristyn and Steve to inform them that they will be transferring Colton to St. Catharines and separating the boys. Due to Ashton’s condition, he won’t be transferred to St. Catharines with his brother and will have an extended hospital stay which could be anywhere from 6 months to a year.

I am starting this in order to help the family with gas, parking, and any medical equipment that they may require to get Ashton home as soon as possible, as well as give them some financial relief during this time to allow them to be present with their children.
