Hello,
My name is Christine Robbins, a longtime and close friend of Martha McNeely. I have started this campaign to help her and Bill with any unexpected medical expenses and other arrangements which may be needed in the future.
Bill McNeely, is 51 years old and the husband of a very dear friend. He had been complaining of back pain for months. It got progressively worse and it eventually diminished his ability to walk. After multiple visits to Urgent Care for severe pain, he was sent to a hospital emergency room. Doctors did an MRI and found a tumor on his sciatic nerve and lesions on his spine. Two additional MRIs were eventually conducted and showed lung tumors as well.
Bill was admitted to the hospital on June 15, and shortly thereafter, he developed pneumonia and pulmonary emboli. Due to his poor condition radiation treatments which he needed badly had to be postponed. Bill underwent surgery to cement and screw his tailbone together. The doctors felt this was necessary to help Bill walk which would help cure the pneumonia. The surgery went well and part of the tumor was removed. Four days later, on July 11, Bill went into cardiac arrest and was admitted into ICU.
During the last six days, Bill has had 4 units of blood. Doctors informed his wife, Martha, the cancer, which was determined to be stage 4 was rapidly spreading. Bill’s doctor believes a form of fungus has developed in his lungs and has been treating him for various infections. Currently, Bill remains in ICU on a breathing tube in critical but stable condition.
During the last two months, Martha continues to work at her job in an effort to maintain their household and retain insurance. Due to Bill’s unexpected illness, Martha believes they are going to have to eventually move. There are mounting medical expenses which are not covered by their insurance provider.
Please help this family during this difficult time. All funds raised will go directly to Martha to help cover medical bills and unexpected costs.
