McNary Band Fire Recovery Fund

On Friday night, June 29th our fundraising fireworks booth was struck by a potential arsonist. The fireworks were safely secured for the night but our our supplies, large tent, tables and chairs were all damaged.

Having to close the booth for about 24 hours for clean-up and to allow the authorities to assess the damage and advise us on how to proceed safely meant a very large loss of funds.

This is our largest fundraiser of the year and helps to make band participation possible for 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders in the McNary High School band program in the Keizer-Salem school district.

We are heartsick that the expenses we have now incurred as a result of this attack may mean we cannot help all the students that want to be a part of our band program.

There are more than 150 students that participate in our band program each year. Our bands play for sporting events like football and basketball games, march in our local parades and perform at Veteran's homes along with other community activities.

Our fundraising support ensures students have instruments if they cannot afford to buy or rent them; maintain uniforms and ensure participation at important community events.

Please donate what you can to help keep our band program vibrant and our students excited about the music they bring to our community. Our students will greatly appreciate your generous support as we continue to march forward.
