My baby, Mitchell, is so special and so full of love. Even though he can’t speak he still communicates with us by his gestures-a kiss, a hug, a smile. I was told that my Mitchell wouldn’t survive infancy because of his congenital heart defects. He’s now 13 years old. Unfortunately his heart problems worsened over time, and Mitchell developed heart failure. In February 2023, my baby’s condition worsened. Mitchell went into cardiac and respiratory failure. He was admitted to the ICU and the echocardiogram showed that his heart was only functioning at 2%. He was intubated (breathing tube), and placed on a mechanical ventilator to breathe for him. This has been my worst nightmare. Every hour, minute, second of every day has been filled with fear, stress, anxiety and tears. BUT GOD IS ABLE!!! Mitchell was deemed a candidate for a heart transplant. He was determined to be a priority case and received a heart quickly. At first the heart was not working after being transplanted. But I believe in the power of God, and the surgeon believes in the power of God. We prayed for the healing of Mitchell. We prayed for the heart to work with no further problems. Mitchell’s heart is working!!!!! He remains on the vent for breathing. I’m okay with that. My baby is ALIVE and I give all praises to God! With having a child that is so ill, I haven’t been able to work for the last 3 months. I’m humbly asking for donations to pay for my bills and for Mitchell to have in-home nursing care while he is recuperating and healing. Unfortunately, his medical insurance will not pay for this service and we will need 24 hour nursing help when Mitchell eventually comes home with the ventilator. With all of my heart, I want to thank everyone for donating to help us while our Mitchell has been ill. Prayers are also greatly needed and appreciated.
