McLey Family in Need of Our Community's Help

With the family’s permission, I’ve created a GoFundMe to support the McLeys through an incredibly difficult time.

Dave McLey, a Vietnam veteran, has faced serious health challenges for years as a result of his service to our country. His condition has now progressed to a point where he is bedridden and under hospice care, focused on comfort and dignity in his final days. His wife, Amy, has taken extended time off work to stay by his side around the clock—advocating for him and ensuring he is not alone.

Amy is known for her tireless dedication, working multiple jobs while caring for Dave and raising two daughters, Aliana and Aliza. Despite his bravery and lifelong sacrifice, Dave has been unable to work for years due to the lasting effects of his service-related disabilities and illness.

The McLeys are not only a Zephyr Cove Elementary and Whittell High School family—they are long-time friends, coworkers, and neighbors to many of us in the community. Their girls grew up alongside ours, and their presence has touched the lives of many.

Now, they need us. The mounting medical costs, time away from work, and end-of-life expenses have created an overwhelming burden at a time when the focus should be on love, dignity, and peace.
